SANTA PAULA — The Santa Paula Museum of Art will present its next Gallery Talk: “How Coming from Uruguay Influenced My Work” with Sylvia Raz at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 9 at 117 N. 10th St., Santa Paula.
Artist Sylvia Raz was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and now lives and works in Ojai. She studied art at Bezalel Art Institute in Jerusalem and at UCLA, event organizers reported in a media release.
Her work evolves around the figure and human passion, striving to capture the sublime and pathetic aspects of life in a variety of media and styles.
Raz will discuss how her Uruguayan heritage influenced her current work on display at the Santa Paula Art Museum.
Admission is $4 for members, $3 for seniors and free for SPAM members and students.
