Santa Paula Art Museum update for May 6 — Bookmaking, Busy Weekend, Kids’ Classes, and Portraits Closing

SANTA PAULA ART MUSEUM

JEANETTE COLE ART CENTER & COLE CREATIVITY CENTER

Here are the Museum’s top moments from the past week:
It was a very busy weekend for the Santa Paula Art Museum! On Thursday afternoon, currently featured artists Meredith Brooks Abbott, Susan Petty, and Gail Pidduck sat down with art students from Santa Paula High School to talk about their work. The students then created their own art inspired by the three women. On Saturday, we joined in on the fun at Santa Paula’s Cinco de Mayo Festival where we set up our own photo-booth and art-making station. And on Sunday, we hosted our monthly Free Family Day inside the Museum’s Cole Creativity Center. “Queen of Kids Art” Judee Hauer shared her fun and unique folk-art doll project, which everyone loved!

That’s the question that we asked artists to answer in this exhibition. It’s the same question we want visitors to consider as they view the 39 self-portraits on display.
