Santa Paula Art Museum update for March 2 — Installation Week

JEANETTE COLE ART CENTER & COLE CREATIVITY CENTER
Installation Week
This week, staff spent time installing our new exhibit, Common Ground, which features 60 works of art by Ventura County artists Meredith Brooks Abbott, Susan Petty, and Gail Pidduck.
Teachers Earn Extra Credit
Santa Paula High School art teachers Ryan Lamb, Sara Lozano, Mariann Romero, and Michael Torres helped us to install a new exhibit of portraits by their art students.
New Art Keeps Popping Up
The Museum hung more new shows this week than it ever has before! That includes our “Pop-Up Art Shop,” which now features new art for purchase by Gina Niebergall and George Lockwood.
Classes Go Digital
Former Disney and Pixar video game artist Anita McLaughlin taught our very first digital art class at the Museum. Students learned how to draw and paint using iPads and iPhones.
New(bury) Friends
We were thrilled when our new friends at Art Trek, Inc. in Newbury Park agreed to to partner with us for our March Free Family Day. Art Trek is a nonprofit that specializes in community art programs.

Artists Meredith Brooks Abbott, Susan Petty, and Gail Pidduck have a lot in common, most especially the love they have for their ranches and gardens – scenes that they have put to paint and graphite for this show.
