SANTA PAULA — Explore your creative side! In summer 2018, the Santa Paula Art Museum will launch an innovative studio art program in its newly renovated Cole Creativity Center for children, teens and adults. Professional teaching artists will lead students in hands-on art workshops where they will be introduced to various materials, concepts and techniques. Located next door to the Museum’s main exhibition building, the Cole Creativity Center will allow Museum visitors to not only view art, but create their own art as well. The Center is designed to be a shared space where creativity is abundant, artists share and inspire, students discover and explore, imagination has no limit, all are welcome, and where art builds community.
The summer studio art program for children is designed to challenge a child’s imagination and ability while providing opportunities for playful exploration. Children’s classes are organized by age group and include week-long courses in color theory, ceramics, drawing and painting, printmaking and more. Adult courses are open to all persons aged 16 and over, from total beginners to seasoned artists. They include one-time workshops and in-depth series that explore mediums like pen and ink, collage, ceramics, printmaking, and even creative yoga. The price of each course varies and space is limited. All supplies are provided. To see a complete listing of available courses and to register for a class, please visit www.santapaulaartmuseum.org/creativity or call (805) 525-5554.
