An Afternoon at the Museum: A Free Family Event
Sunday, July 18, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Spend an Afternoon at the Museum seeing, making and learning about art! On Sunday, July 18, families are invited to explore and create art inspired by the Museum’s current exhibitions: Colors of California, Making Waves, and What Remains. After you’ve viewed the art, head outside to the Museum’s courtyard for some fun and free art activities. Museum educators will show you how to make art using a variety of media.
You can also meet artists Duane Dammeyer and Rima Muna and enjoy a 45-minute tour of their exhibit, What Remains, at 1:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. Click here to reserve your spot on a tour. Admission to the Museum, plus the art activities and tours are free for everyone on Sunday, July 18.
*Visitors must wear a face mask unless fully vaccinated.
Art Class: Pen and Ink Drawing (Ages 12+)
Three Sessions: Wednesday, July 14; Thursday, July 15; and Thursday, July 22, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
There’s only one spot left in teaching artist Mariann Romero’s three-part Pen and Ink Drawing course, which begins Wednesday, July 14. Participants will learn the traditional method of pen and ink drawing using a dipping pen and liquid ink, a technique that artists have been using for centuries! All materials will be provided. The cost of the three-part course is $70.00. All skill levels are welcome. Preregistration is required.

Art Camp: Kids’ Ceramics Camp (Ages 8-13)
The week of Monday, August 2, to Friday, August 6, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day
Our June Kids’ Ceramics Camp was so much fun, we decided to offer another camp in August! Let your kids get their hands dirty making art. Ceramics Camp is all about fun and building skills in clay. Teaching artist Patti Keller will teach students basic skills for hand-building ceramics and glazing. Kids will learn how to create multiple projects to take home, including pinch pots, coil vases, slab boxes, and more. The cost of the weeklong camp is $150.00 per child. Preregistration is required, and face masks must be worn by students and teachers during class.

Deadlines Nearing for Fall Group Shows
There are several upcoming opportunities for artists to exhibit at the Santa Paula Art Museum. The deadlines for two group shows being exhibited this fall are quickly approaching. Work From Home entries are due by August 13 and Art About Agriculture entries are due by October 1.
