Santa Paula Art Museum — New Classes Just Added!

Santa Paula Art Museum
Jeanette Cole Art Center & Cole Creativity Center
We had such a great time hosting a wonderful crowd at our first-ever Wine and Watercolors event on Saturday night. During the two-hour event, adult guests were able to travel between our watercolor painting stations, the Museum’s current exhibitions, wine tasting with Santa Paula Cellars, and our photo booth where they could picture themselves as famous works of art – all while being serenaded by the gorgeous sounds of Santa Paula singer Shay Moulder! Professional watercolor artist Tim Kitz provided ample inspiration as he demonstrated his techniques, and his beautiful painting of Ventura Pier was raffled off to one lucky guest at the end of the night. Meanwhile, a sweet group of kiddos got to make their own art and enjoy a movie night right next door at the Cole Creativity Center. Thank you to everyone who spent Saturday night with us! Check out some of our other upcoming events and classes below.
With art historian and Santa Paula Art Museum Curator of Creativity Meg Phelps as your guide, explore the landmark book and documentary film Secret Knowledge in which artist David Hockney reveals the secret tools and techniques used by generations of painters for their incredibly realistic results. Discover why the great masters were so great in this two-part class on Wednesday, October 23 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, and Thursday, October 24 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The cost of this class is $30.00 per person.
Snag your spot in Wana Klasen’s upcoming My Journal, My Art class for ages 16 and over! The three-part class begins Saturday, October 26 and continues on Saturday, November 2 and Saturday, November 9, from 11:00am to 2:00pm each day. Starting with a pre-loved book, students will dive deeply into mixed media and explore creative uses of color, collage, patterns, photos, mini-paintings, ink, lettering, tangles, and more to create a one-of-a-kind visual diary. The cost of this class is $85.00 for all three sessions. Preregistration is required. Click here to watch a short video preview of the class.
