The Art of George Lockwood

On view now through Sunday, January 14, 2024

“The Art of George Lockwood” is a solo exhibition by Santa Barbara County artist, and Santa Paula native, George Lockwood. The exhibit features 37 original paintings representing scenes and subject matter from Santa Paula to the Central Coast to the Pacific Northwest. All of the artworks are available for purchase.

Lockwood was born in Santa Paula in 1961. While earning his Agricultural Business Management degree at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, he spent summers packing mules in Yosemite National Park. After college, Lockwood’s love for the outdoors took him to Alaska, where he obtained his guide license.

For 19 years, George guided clients to the most remote and beautiful corners of Alaska. In his free time, Lockwood taught himself to draw and paint the wildlife he encountered. Lockwood retired from the guide business in 2003, and has been a full-time painter ever since with collectors around the globe.

While we highly recommend viewing “The Art of George Lockwood” in person, we hope you enjoy this abbreviated look at the exhibition in your inbox!
