Santa Paula Art Museum — FREE Teen Acting Workshop and February Fun!

In honor of the Santa Paula Art Museum’s tenth birthday, we’ve just installed a new exhibition featuring selections from the Museum’s permanent art collection. Since its genesis in 2010, the Museum’s collection has grown to include over 330 significant works of art, the vast majority of which has been donated. On view now through May 10, 2020, The First Decade: Celebrating Ten Years of Acquisitionsfeatures art by Jessie Arms Botke, Cornelis Botke, Horace Bristol, Robert Clunie, Carlisle Cooper, Maynard Dixon, Otto Heino, Ralph Holmes, Norman Kirk, Susan Petty, Gail Pidduck, Douglas Shively, Hiroko Yoshimoto and more. Speaking of birthdays, tickets to the Museum’s 10th Birthday Bash on Saturday, February 1, 2020, are selling fast! Space is limited, so be sure to purchase your ticket(s) in advance if you plan to join us.
Gallery Talk: The Artists of Art About Agriculture

Take a tour of our current Art About Agriculture exhibition with the featured artists as your guides! As we walk through the gallery, each artist will tell the story behind their artwork.
Teen Acting and Storytelling Workshop (Ages 13-18)

Free for teens
Film and television actor Justin Johnson Cortez will lead teens through fun exercises and activities, focusing on the Meisner acting method and others. Preregistration is required.
Museum’s 10th Birthday Bash
Saturday, February 1: 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

To mark the Santa Paula Art Museum’s 10th birthday, we’re throwing a big Birthday Bash on Saturday, February 1, 2020. The event will be a fun filled evening featuring live music by Ryan Quinn and Sounds of the Collective. Quinn received a four-chair turn on NBC’s hit singing competition show, “The Voice!” Guests will also enjoy cocktails, creative experiences (including a fortune teller and caricature artist), a champagne toast, and more. All proceeds from the event will benefit that Santa Paula Art Museum.

It’s never too early to cultivate creativity! Build whole-child skills, spend quality time, and nurture a love of creativity and art in children ages 4 and under. The cost of this class varies: $25.00 for all four sessions for one parent and one child; $35.00 for all four sessions for one parent and two children; $8.00 for one class for one parent and one child; and $10.00 for one class for one parent and two children. Preregistration is required.

Join us for our February Free Family Day and explore words and symbols of love. Use yarn and mixed media to dive into your creativity and share the love by making one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day cards and gifts. You can also join in on a collaborative woven piece led by macra-weaving artist Marlene Taylor!
