Santa Paula Art Museum — Care for Some Wine with Your Watercolors?

Santa Paula Art Museum
Jeanette Cole Art Center & Cole Creativity Center
This Week at the Museum
Between our exhibits, events, and educational programs, we have welcomed a lot of new faces to the Santa Paula Art Museum during these last few days of September. People are loving our new exhibit, Beyond Function, which opened with a premiere party last weekend. Teen Art Group hosted some fantastic teens from the City of Santa Paula Parks and Recreation Department’s recently formed City Corps. Both of our first two ArtSPARK tours of the new school year were made up of students from Ventura. And artist Jackie Blue had us swooning over pastels during her recent painting demonstration and raffle. October promises to be just as fun here at the Museum. Check out our upcoming events and classes below!
Wine and Watercolors
Wine and Watercolors
Saturday, October 19, 2019, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm • $20.00 per person
You’re invited to Wine and Watercolors at the Santa Paula Art Museum on Saturday, October 19, 2019, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The event will pair wine with local music and art for a creative, after-hours event catered to adults. Grab a beer or wine at the bar and join Santa Paula Cellars for a tasting of their reds while you listen to the gorgeous sounds of ukulele-playing chanteuse Shay Moulder. Play with watercolor painting techniques and have fun creating your own works of art as professional artist Timothy Kitz performs a live watercolor painting demonstration. Kitz’s finished painting will even be raffled off to one lucky guest! Tasty hors d’oeuvres will also be served and the Museum’s current exhibitions will be open for your enjoyment. Tickets to the event are $20.00 per person. Tickets can be purchased in advance by clicking on the button below.
Need to arrange childcare for your night out? We’ve got that covered too! Children ages 4 and up can make their own art inside the Museum’s Cole Creativity Center while you’re next-door. Museum educators will lead kids through fun, Halloween-themed craft activities until you’re ready to head home. Childcare will be provided free of charge to event guests (event admission must be paid before children are dropped off).

Thursday, October 10, 2019: 7:00pm to 9:00pm • Pay what you can
It’s time to get crafty once again during the Museum’s monthly Crafty Creations class for ages 12 and up! On Thursday, October 10, we’ll use simple designs and a bright palette to create little landscape rocks to brighten up our personal spaces. All materials will be provided, and all skill levels are welcome. This monthly opportunity is made possible by our generous teaching artist, Marianne Romero, who is volunteering her time to teach this class. In the spirit of that generosity, participants need only pay what they can (a donation can be made online or in class). To help us manage supplies, preregistration is required. Students under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The demo is being held in concert with the Museum’s current exhibition On Location in the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore.
