Join us at the Santa Paula Art Museum on Saturday, January 18, for the premiere of “A Brush with Nature: Three Artists’ Perspectives,” an exhibition featuring Santa Clarita-based artists Sandy Fisher, Mardilan Lee Georgio, and Charlotte Mullich. Together the three artists present three impressions of nature, from landscapes and seascapes to flora and fauna, using three distinct mediums: oil, pastel, and watercolor.

Beer, wine, and hors d’oeuvres will be served. All of the artworks will be available for purchase. “A Brush with Nature” will be on view from January 18, 2025, to May 4, 2025.

About the Artists:

Sandy Fisher

A highly active member of the Santa Clarita art scene, Fisher’s love of oil painting largely stems from her love of plein air painting. Painting outdoors replaced her affinity for hiking after a second cancer diagnosis necessitated a change in how she engages with nature.

Mardilan Lee Georgio

Growing up, Georgio’s primary focus was ballet. She eventually studied at Julliard in NYC at age 16. Today, the artist prefers the tactile nature of pastels, which places her body in direct connection with her medium, echoing her early days as a dancer.

Charlotte Mullich

Mullich has had a long career in arts education in New York and California. As a high school art teacher, she appreciates the discipline required to wield watercolor paints and gravitates toward watercolor’s translucent and luminous effects.
