SANTA MARIA — Santa Maria High School administrators, teachers and staff will celebrate senior success when they distribute graduation caps and gowns on Friday, May 11.
The drive-thru event takes place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the staff parking lot off Thornburg Street. Volunteers will place the items into an open vehicle window or trunk. Students will enter the staff parking lot and make a line adjacent to the softball field fence.
Seniors must have their school identification ready to show. Students making a payment should stay in line and wait for further information.
Teachers and staff may join the event from a car or by sitting in a lawn chair to cheer on the class.
“These students are our seniors, so it is very important to rally around these opportunities and go the extra mile for them (put ourselves in their shoes for a second),’’ said activity director Adrian Salazar.
