SANTA MARIA — Santa Maria High School administrators, teachers and staff celebrated senior success when they distributed graduation caps and gowns on May 11.
The drive?thru event took place in the staff parking lot off Thornburg Street. Volunteers placed the items into an open vehicle window or trunk. Students entered the staff parking lot and make a line adjacent to the softball field fence.
“These students are our seniors, so it is very important to rally around these opportunities and go the extra mile for them (put ourselves in their shoes for a second),’’ said activity director Adrian Salazar.
