Democrat supported by more than 50 current and former local elected leaders

Supervisor Salud Carbajal announced on Jan. 20 that he has endorsed Hannah-Beth Jackson for State Senate – joining colleagues Doreen Farr and Janet Wolf along with Assemblymember Das Williams, Ventura County Supervisor Kathy Long and dozens of current and former elected school board, city council members, mayors and county officials from Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties, the Jackson campaign reported recently in a media release.

“I’ve worked with Hannah-Beth for many years, long before either of us was elected to serve in public office,” Carbajal said. “I’m pleased to support Hannah-Beth because she always represented our community well during her six years in the State Assembly, and she will continue to do so as our State Senator. As chair of the Assembly Natural Resources Committee, Hannah-Beth led the fight to protect our coast – and to promote green jobs through alternative energy.”

“I’m honored to have earned Supervisor Carbajal’s support,” Jackson said. “He’s a dedicated, hard-working public servant who puts his constituents first. I look forward to working with him on behalf of the people of Santa Barbara County and our coast.”

Hannah-Beth is also supported by the Santa Barbara Women’s Political Committee, Democratic Women of Santa Barbara County, California Nurses Association, California League of Conservation Voters, United Farm Workers, California NOW Pac, UCSB Campus Democrats and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of Santa Barbara, Ventura & San Luis Obispo Counties.

Hannah-Beth’s local support is broad – ranging from business and environmental leaders, unions, and education leaders including twenty-two school board members and superintendents and dozens of individual teachers. Visit Hannah-Beth’s website for a list of her supporters.

The newly-drawn 19th State Senate District includes all of Santa Barbara County and a large portion of Ventura County.
