While we were installing our new exhibit Beyond Function inside the Museum’s Jeanette Cole Art Center this week, a great many things were happening for the Museum at the Cole Creativity Center and off-site! Annie Hoffman of Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore performed an oil painting demonstration in front of an audience of admirers. Lucky guest Judy B. won the raffle to take home Hoffman’s finished piece ( click here to watch a quick video recap of the demo). Teaching artist Mariann Romero’s first-ever Crafty Creations class was a hit with participants (next class is October 10 – please see below). Teen Art Group teaching artists Gabriel Cardenas and Jessica Diaz led a group glow paint project at Ignite After School Program’s glow party for teens in Santa Paula on Friday night. And our Art in Agartist-in-residence Lissa Corona organized a Family Art Day at Limoneira Ranch for Limoneira Company families. Lissa’s grandparents worked for Limoneira and her artist residency – funded by a Limoneira Foundation Fund Grant – is designed to allow artists to explore Santa Paula’s agricultural landscape while also expanding access to the arts for everyone in our community.
