SANTA BARBARA — On Saturday, April 5, Santa Barbara residents will join communities across the country in a mass mobilization to send a clear and urgent
message:
Hands Off!
Event Details:
- Location: De La Guerra Plaza, 8 E De La Guerra St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
- Date: Saturday, April 5, 2025
- Time: Rally from 1–3 PM | Sign-making begins at 12 PM | March to the Beach
- Co-Sponsors: Indivisible Santa Barbara, Women’s March Santa Barbara
The event, part of a nationwide protest movement, will take place at De La Guerra Plaza from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with pre-rally sign-making starting at 12:00 PM. It is co-sponsored by Indivisible Santa Barbara and Women’s March Santa Barbara, and is part of a coordinated response to what organizers call an “ongoing crisis of power and greed” from Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and other billionaire elites.
Organizers stress that the protest is rooted in nonviolent action and will reflect the values of peaceful resistance and community solidarity. Participants are encouraged to bring signs, invite friends and neighbors, and stand united in opposition to the growing concentration of power that threatens democratic systems, worker protections, and public services.
The Santa Barbara action is part of the national Hands Off! 2025 campaign, which calls on Americans to resist the dismantling of democratic institutions and the looting of public resources for private gain.
“We are not powerless. By coming together—loud, visible, and unafraid—we can build a real opposition to the chaos being inflicted on our country.”
