Santa Barbara First District Supervisor Das Williams — My Turn, Appointments, Webinar for Businesses, & A Look at Last Year

Phased Roll Out of “My Turn,” Progress Towards Orange Tier, and Vaccine Appointments
The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department is beginning a phased roll-out of the My Turn scheduling platform offered by the State of California.

The My Turn tool is part of an effort by state health leaders to organize California’s broad-reach vaccination drive, consisting of public and private health systems, pharmacies, hospitals, community health clinics, pop-up sites, and mobile sites.

The County Public Health Department will offer a Johnson and Johnson vaccine clinic in Santa Maria on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Allan Hancock College. Appointments were released on Monday, April 12, 2021 at https://myturn.ca.gov/. Additionally, Cottage Hospital has appointments available for this week, which must be scheduled through My Turn as well.

First-dose clinics moving forward will be released via the My Turn portal. Persons needing a second dose will receive an email one week before their second dose is due. They may also call 2-1-1 and select option 4 one week before their second dose is due if they need assistance scheduling. Those needing a second dose will not need to register for My Turn.

The Santa Barbara County Call Center remains open daily from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and due to high demand, the County has expanded its call center, adding more trained, multi-language operators to assist community members with their vaccine and testing appointment needs. Call 2-1-1 and press option 4 for vaccination assistance. For more information about COVID-19 vaccination, how to schedule appointments for the vaccine and for information and updates on the vaccine, please visithttps://publichealthsbc.org/vaccine/.

Home-bound individuals can call 2-1-1 and arrange for an in-home vaccination.

In hopeful news, Santa Barbara County is on its way to reaching the Orange Tier! While we are still in the Red Tier, we have met the criteria for the first week towards the Orange Tier so we just need to continue to meet that criteria for one more week to make the transition, which is estimated on April 21st. Help Shelter Animals – Wags & Purrs Online Auction
The Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation is hosting an online auction just in time for Summer. Proceeds benefit homeless, injured or sick animals in our three County shelters. These funds will be used for critical or emergency medical care of injured or sick stray animals that arrive at the shelters. These animals can be saved through your support. Some examples of animals in need are those hit by cars, or those that have suffered abuse or neglect.

The Animal Care Foundation also funds low to no cost spay/neuter, training for animals not considered adoptable due to behavioral issues and enrichment for animals in the shelter.

The Spring & Summer Wags & Purrs Online Auction features items for pets and for people, so get ready to let your fingers do the shopping! Click here to start bidding.
