SANTA BARBARA BOWL ELECTS
NEW OFFICERS TO
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Santa Barbara, CA, (March 5, 2018) – Santa Barbara Bowl announced today that it has elected new officers to lead the 2018 Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation board of directors.

Tobe Plough, CEO at Plough & Associates Management Consultants, will serve as president. Karen Kerns, a business and real estate attorney, will serve as vice president. Carola Nicholson, CPA and co-owner at Nicholson & Schwartz, will serve as treasurer. Graham Farrar, a partner and co-owner of Elite Garden, will continue in his role as secretary.

Laurie Bentson, president of the Bentson Foundation, will also join the Bowl board as a general member.

We would like to acknowledge the hardworking dedication and extend sincere gratitude to three long-term board members who recently resigned from the board: education outreach enthusiast Ginni Dreier, who served 13 years; long-time Bowl supporter Tad Smyth, who served ten years; and Paul Dore, who served as president of the board for 15 years, where, among other achievements, he raised $42 million to support the Bowl’s restoration and renovation.

The members of the Bowl Foundation board guide the nonprofit Santa Barbara Bowl in its mission of creating the leading outdoor performing arts center in the country through facility enhancement, performance diversity, and community and education outreach.

“2018 looks to be an exciting year as the Bowl enters its 82nd season offering music and educational opportunities to our community,” said Rick Boller, executive director of the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation. “The experienced Bowl board, volunteers and staff are ready for the upcoming Concert Season!”

Constructed in 1936 as a WPA project, the Santa Barbara Bowl is one of the most scenic and intimate amphitheaters in the world, attracting the biggest names in music with its unique ocean and city views from its landmark stage, the Pavilion. Recently, the Bowl was voted best live music venue in Santa Barbara by both the Santa Barbara Independent and Santa Barbara News-Press, respectively.
