Longtime Ventura resident Max Mora (Candelario Maximo Mora) 85, died on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012 at home, reports Moses Mora, community organizer of the Tortilla Flats historical program in Ventura.
Max was born on Feb. 2,1927 in Colmor, New Mexico and came to Ventura in 1945. Max was the owner for 25 years of Mora Distributing Company best known for Al’s Tortillas and Products.
Max is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Leonila Mora; daughters Anita Montiel and Cathy (and Bobby Barron); sons Max (and Angie Mora), Thomas (and Anna Mora), David (and Linda Mora), Jim (and Carolyn Mora); sisters Emma (and Frank Ruiz) and Nash Johnson; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1 at the Reardon Funeral Home, 757 E. Main St., Ventura, CA 93001.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Friday, Nov. 2 at the San Buenaventura Mission.
