Rio School District accepting applications

The Rio School District is accepting applications for open enrollment, intra-district transfers Feb. 1 through March 1, the district reported in a media release.

Intra-district transfers are transfers requested by resident district students who wish to enroll at a school site other than their resident area school. Kindergarten registration will begin March 1.

Applications are available at the Office of Student and Family Services (OSFS), 3300 Cortez St., Oxnard, and at each school site. Completed intra-district applications are due to OSFS by 5 p.m., March 1.

The Rio School District is also accepting inter-district transfer students who want to transfer into the district. Students will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Applications can be picked up between 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Office of Student and Family Services, 3300 Cortez St., Oxnard. Application approval is based on space availability at the requested school. For more information, call the district at 805.983.0381, ext. 101.

The Rio School District includes six elementary and two middle schools and the Community Day School. There are more than 4,500 students in the district, which serves the unincorporated community of El Rio, the RiverPark development and portions of the city of Oxnard.
