SIMI VALLEY — The Simi Valley Family YMCA is accepting registrations for before and after school childcare for the 2019-20 school year. Childcare is for children in kindergarten through sixth grade in the Simi Valley Unified School District.
Childcare is available at nine Simi Valley elementary schools: Arroyo Elementary, Atherwood, Elementary, Berylwood Elementary, Big Springs Elementary, Hollow Hills Elementary, Katherine Elementary, Santa Susana Elementary, Sycamore Elementary and White Oak Elementary.
Before school care, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., includes breakfast and table games while after school care goes to 6:30 p.m. and emphasizes homework completion, STEAM activities, crafts, healthy eating and physical exercise. The YMCA incorporates its core values of respect, honesty, caring and responsibility in all its before and after school programs.
The Simi Y’s childcare program is a state licensed with a staff ratio of one staff to 12 students. All staff members are CPR/First Aid certified.
Students can attend full time (up to five days) or part time (up to three days) each week. The monthly fee ranges from $95 to $115 for morning care and $285 to $410 for afternoon care. The fee structure includes pupil-free days, most holidays and winter and spring break. Financial aid is available.
