Property Tax Workshop Hosted by VCCDC with Guest Speaker Steven Hintz set for Feb.18

VCCDC Homeowner Workshop - Property Taxes - February 2016 (E) - AmigosVENTURA COUNTY — For many homeowners, their property tax bill is the second largest expense of owning a home after mortgage interest but not all homeowners understand their property taxes. Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC) hopes to bring clarity to this topic by hosting a free Property Tax workshop with special guest speaker Steven Hintz, Treasure/Tax Collector for the County of Ventura. VCCDC encourages all homeowners and potential homeowners to attend this informative and free workshop. This workshop is part of VCCDC’s “From House to Home” Homeowner Workshops which are designed to educate homeowners on varying topics such as Financial Planning, Home Maintenance, Estate Planning and more. The workshop will take place Thursday, February 18th, 2016 at 6:00pm at the VCCDC Home Ownership Center located at 2231 Sturgis Road, Oxnard, CA 93030 (conveniently located near the 101 Freeway).

The presentation will cover the following topic

  • How the amount of your taxes is determined
  • Impound accounts
  • What happens when you fail to make a timely payment
  • Supplemental taxes
