Port of Hueneme’s Consecutive Wins Represents the Ability to Reach Highest Standards in Government Finance Reporting

The recognition streak continues for the 13th consecutive year! The Oxnard Harbor District was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada. This award was given to the Oxnard Harbor District, which owns the Port of Hueneme, for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2022.

The annual State of the Port luncheon took place this month at Adagio Bella Gardens! President Jess Herrera was accompanied by Kristin Decas, CEO & Port Director; Dona Lacayo, Chief Commercial & Public Affairs Officer; Austin Yang, CFO/CAO; Christina Birdsey, Chief Operations Officer; and Giles Pettifor, Environmental Manager, in delivering the update. They addressed the port’s community outreach efforts, economic vitality, financial successes, operation improvements, and environmental goals.

The Port and Oxnard Collage among other community partners participated in the planning and production of Dia de Los Muertos— a night of food, culture, and celebration! We are proud to continue building on these cultural investments that not only build community but also build partnerships.

The Port’s Committed to Community drive continues through the holidays! Last Saturday the Port in collaboration with the Southwinds Neighborhood Council as well as Inlakech and the Ser Humano brand! 300 families received turkeys and produce as part of this year’s pre-Thanksgiving distribution. We are proud to serve and would like to commend the Port employees and community volunteers who make these events truly special.
