SANTA MARIA — Student leaders lit up Pioneer Valley High School for a “Holiday Lights” drive-through event on Saturday, December 12.
Adding joy to the season, the PV Student Council and helpers decorated an area of the campus with holiday lights, candy canes and cheer. Visitors joined in with more than 300 vehicles including some that were also decorated.
The event was designed to “give our community a place for the family to see holiday lights and celebrate the season with our PVHS family,’’ according to Panther Activity Director Lisa Walters.
“Our community really came together to help make the holidays better for those who have had a difficult time,’’ said Rachel Ramos, Student Council Outreach Team Leader.
“This was so fun!,’’ said Principal Shanda Herrera. “Seeing all of the lights and decorated trees brought smiles to so many people! From our KPOP club’s “Home Alone” theme, our FFA’s “Christmas Vacation”, to Student Council’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” – it was a time to celebrate the holidays with PVHS. Also, there were so many donations to help out our PVHS families who have had a difficult 2020. I am touched by and appreciative of our community, who stepped up to help out our PVHS family.”
