OXNARD — Panteón Fest, a celebration of Día De Los Muertos, will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at Heritage Square, downtown Oxnard.

The event is hosted by Pipiripau, a local brand that honors Mexican culture through apparel, art, and community events.

At Panteón Fest, Aztec drumbeats honor the departed, and traditional music fills the air. The desfilada procession brings the community together, with themed displays and entertainment, and a theatrical play showcases the traditions of Día De Los Muertos.

The event features face painting, handmade goods from local vendors, an art gallery with work by local artists, and a Catrin and Catrina contest for the best-dressed participants.

Panteón Fest is about celebrating community and culture, uniting people across generations in a day of remembrance.

We encourage all attendees to fully embrace the spirit of Día de los Muertos by coming dressed and painted in themed attire. Traditional attire, colorful costumes, and face paint are highly encouraged to enhance the festive atmosphere and celebrate the cultural significance of the event.
