OXNARD — Oxnard City Manager Alexander Nguyen announced the appointment of Ashley M. Golden as Oxnard’s new Assistant City Manager.
Ms. Golden currently serves as Interim Assistant City Manager for the City of Oxnard.
“Ms. Golden has demonstrated her ability to effectively address the City’s many challenges. She has broad and extensive knowledge of the City, and she has the confidence of staff. I am confident she will continue be a great asset to the residents and business community of Oxnard. Ashley is a solutions-focused leader with a comprehensive planning, redevelopment/economic development, and transportation background. She has a strong belief in good government and is passionate about her career in public service.” Nguyen said.
Ms. Golden will oversee Economic Development, Development Services, Housing, and Cultural and Community Services Departments.
Ms. Golden currently serves as Interim Assistant City Manager, Development Services Director, and Interim Economic Development Director. She has over fifteen years of experience with the Oxnard Development Services Department and over three years’ experience with the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency. Ms. Golden brings extensive experience in effective strategic planning, development permit processing, transportation planning, budgeting, enhancing organizational efficiency and effectiveness through streamlining and improving processes, evaluating departmental policies and procedures.
Ms. Golden also serves as the City liaison to the Oxnard Chamber of Commerce, is a Board of Director member for the Oxnard Convention and Visitors Bureau, and is a member of the American Planning Association.
Ms. Golden holds a bachelor’s degree in Community and Regional Development from the University of California at Davis.
