Community members are urged to turn out in force at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6 at the Oxnard City Council meeting to support efforts to approve an agreement that will reinstate Channel 25 as Oxnard’s public access station.
The council will meet at 305 W. Third St., Oxnard
“It has been 15 months since our community started with only a hope and a dream of restoring a voice to those who need it most,” said David Cruz, a television and radio journalist who is leading the effort to bring programming to local residents. “Our goal was simple: Turn on Channel 25 again as the only Public Access Station to the residents of the City of Oxnard.
“I extend a heartfelt sense of gratitude to you for your unwavering support during these many months of persevering with us in this undertaking. It is now up to us to turn out in a strong show of community interest and commitment in support of a unanimous vote by the Council,” Cruz said. “Channel 25 will reflect the best of what Oxnard has to offer as well as provide a valuable conduit into the homes of tens of thousands of our residents. It will be the product of many for many. Please share this invitation and call to action to those you can reach and make tomorrow a moment when we came together for the betterment of all.”
