SANTA BARBARA —  To assist in the financial support for families who have a child with cancer during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, Teddy Bear Cancer foundation (TBCF) is holding an online silent auction with over 100 unique and highly desirable items. The online silent auction is now LIVE and their in-person preview event takes place this Saturday, September 26th at Nurture Cottage & Mesa Burger any time between 8am and 11am.

Since the start of COVID-19, TBCF has been providing even more services for families, including money for rent assistance, grocery gift cards, additional emotional support groups with licensed therapists, virtual and in-person tutoring, meal and care package delivery, and virtual family fun events to keep their kids engaged.

Every year, TBCF hosts their annual Gold Ribbon Campaign throughout the month of September to raise funds during National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the annual in-person Gold Ribbon Campaign Luncheon at the Four Seasons Biltmore has been cancelled, which is a major source of funding for the nonprofit. This year, the Campaign is solely focused on raising funds and awareness for the organization and the families they serve which includes their online auction and Honor Wall.

TBCF’s auction includes fun and unique items such as  a  one night stay for 10 people at the magnificent Sunstone Villa, a two nights stay and dinner in Palm Springs, Tim Allen’s voice on your outgoing voicemail,  a SF Giants men’s Jerseys, multiple items from Burberry, Gucci, Prada, Hermes and Ballenciaga, a David Yurman necklace, a gift basket from Field and Forts, an alpaca throw from Jenni Kayne and much, much more.

“We are so grateful to our wonderful supporters and those who donated these fantastic auction items,” said Interim Executive Director Eryn Shugart. “We look forward to seeing our friends and supporters come out to our in-person preview event to grab some pastries, a cup of coffee and to see some of these items. We also will have a drawing, wine pull, and an Honor Wall for people to make contributions in honor of a TBCF child or another loved one they have known with cancer,” said Shugart.

The in-person preview event will take place this coming Saturday, September 26th from 8am-11am. This is a walk-through event and social distancing guidelines will be in place. Masks are required and Renaud’s coffee and pastries will be served. There will also be an opportunity drawing, wine pull, and Honor wall where guest may make donations in honor of a loved one, or write an inspirational message.

Bidding will be online only, and some items are available to purchase. To view items and help support families who have a child with cancer, please visit: https://www.32auctions.com/TBCF2020
