SANTA BARBARA — The Our Lady of Mount Carmel School community celebrated Spring with their annual Spring Raffle drawing and Family Movie Night on the grass, on Saturday, April 17, 2020. The school came together in a socially distanced way by reserving family circles and staying masked during the viewing of Raya and the Last Dragon. In addition to the movie hosted by the Parent Board Guild, there was a raffle drawing that awarded cash prizes. Congratulations to all of the raffle winners. The annual Spring Raffle raises much needed money to help support the operations of the school.
The night was filled with popcorn, candy and community while enjoying a movie under the stars. Fun was had by all in attendance. Parent Board Guild Member, Emma Lombardi said, “Given the current times, being able to gather safely and enjoy our children’s smiles, lifted the morale of our school and gave all of us some normalcy.” OLMCS has been at the forefront of conducting in-person, full day classes for its students during this pandemic year. Parent Board Guild Member Stephanie Medina said, “Our Lady of Mount Carmel School has an amazing family atmosphere where we take pride in gathering as a school community. The Movie Night allowed us to once again gather and connect in a safe environment to enjoy time together as a school.”
Kelly Martin, Guild President said, “We would like to thank our Movie Night sponsors, Ferris Orthodontic Group, Santa Barbara Children’s Dentistry, and Village Automotive Repair for partnering with us. We are grateful to them for helping us foster community and create family fun!” In addition to the sponsors, Gavin Roy Presents produced the event.
