E-waste is the common name for electronic products that have reached the end of their useful life. Computers, televisions, copiers, mobile phones, and fax machines are common electronic products that make up one of the fastest growing disposal problems in the state of California. Because of heavy metals and other toxic substances contained in these items, the state has prohibited their disposal in public landfills. Many municipalities charge a fee per item to pick up these items from homes and businesses because they have to be disposed of in a special manner.

Items accepted:

Ink cartridges, television sets/screens, laptops, computer systems and components, fax machines, copiers, scanners, and printers, MP3, CD and DVD players, stereo components, video gaming consoles and games, cell phones and their batteries, household telephones, miscellaneous electrical wiring and cables

Items Not Accepted:

Household appliances, including microwaves, cannot be accepted for recycling.
