Oct. 6 — Journey to ‘The Land of Light,’ Where Art, Science, and Play Intersect

SANTA PAULA — You’re invited to journey to “The Land of Light” at the Santa Paula Art Museum on Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Now in its second year, the one-night only event will encourage visitors to see and experience art in a whole new way. The Land of Light is inspired by artists of all ages and is designed to engage the community through interactive art installations including lighting effects, visual film graphics, and displays of science and technology. Admission to the event is free for everyone.

The Land of Light will see the entire Santa Paula Art Museum campus transformed as it encompasses multiple indoor and outdoor spaces and spans from day to night. At sunset, a special “lighting ceremony” will activate monumental light and video projections, illuminating the variety of exhibitions on display. Exhibits range from two-dimensional works to three-dimensional sculptures, “art cars,” and more. A variety of maker stations will allow guests to interact with and add to the various artworks and displays. The event will also include a live DJ and performances by aerial and glow dancers.

The Land of Light will feature exhibitions and performances by The Aerial Studio, Altarbeast, ATLAS Academy of Technology and Leadership, Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clara Valley, Carlos Grasso, CalArts alumni Kamyi Lee, R.S. Buck and Shan Wu, and many more.

The Santa Paula Art Museum occupies two historic buildings located at 117 N 10th Street and 123 N 10th Street in downtown Santa Paula.
