SANTA MARIA — Ghosts, goblins and scary fun is coming to a drive-through Trick-or-Treat event at Pioneer Valley High School on October 30 (Friday).
The school’s FFA officers will join forces with clubs such as K-Pop, AVID 2020, NAMI and SHARe from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to transform part of the campus into a “thriller” experience.
The frightening tour starts at Ag Department’s parking lot and then moves through the school where motorists can Trick-or-Treat at different venues. The students will be hidden, staged, and placed throughout the route. Each club will have a designated spot on the route where vehicles will stop and Trick-or-Treat.
All visitors will receive a free pumpkin to take home and carve for a contest. Students and visitors can submit a picture of their work to the school’s media page and later it will be put into a video, according to agriculture teacher Gabriel Ponce.
PV FFA President Marc Cabeliza said the experience will capture the “spirit of Halloween” during these challenging times.
“With Halloween coming up and most kids most likely not trick or treating, we wanted to give students the opportunity to enjoy some festive fun,’’ Cabeliza added. “The lack of in-person interaction has taken a toll on our society, and we want to provide our community with a safe event. We encourage our students and families in the vehicles to dress up and join in on the fun.’’
COVID-19 prevention masks are required.
