Oct. 2 — Museum of Ventura County to present ‘Oaktober’

VENTURA — Join the Museum of Ventura County in a celebration of oaks and native plants with Dr. David White of Once Upon a Watershed, Jenn Rodriguez of Growing Works, Katie Tilford of TinyPlants, and Melina Watts author of Tree, in partnership with Melissa Baffa of Ventura Land Trust from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Sunday, Sept. 2 at 100 E. Main St., Ventura.

10:00 a.m.– Dr. David White will give a talk about our local oaks
11:00 a.m. – Author Melina Watts will introduce Melissa Baffa, Executive Director of the Ventura Land Trust, and then Watts will give a talk about the novel Tree and the cycle of paintings inspired by the book created by internationally renowned painter Jeff Sojka.
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – TinyPlants and Growing Works will be selling beautiful California native plants, so join us, get some gorgeous plants and go wild.
