WELCOME BACK!
OC LIVE returns to the Performing Arts Building stage at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, with a celebration of Flamenco! Sit back and enjoy the sultry rhythms and intoxicating movements of this specially curated performance with LA-based musicians and guest dancer Misuda Cohen!
Enjoy a fresh take on Flamenco in this special event curated for Oxnard College by dancer and choreographer Wendy Castellanos. Musicians Gabriel Osuna on guitar and voice, Gerardo Morales on percussion and Mateo Amper on piano are joined by a special guest dancer to set the stage on fire with entrancing rhythms and heart wrenching expressions. Grounded in tradition, while remaining fresh and inspired, this event features the Latin Jazz side of Flamenco. Visit the artists on the web.
And that’s just the beginning of our Fall season…
We have a collaborative performing arts showcase with artists and students from VCCD and CSUCI and a lively look at climate change with our very own Professor Jim Danza. We welcome OC alumnus Dr. David Garcia – now Prof. of Education at UCLA – whose new book explores education history in Oxnard. And we have two – count ’em, two! – hilarious comedy shows lined up to relieve your mid-semester blues: Chicano Secret Service and Jason Love’s all-star revue, Live from LA!
