It’s been a little while since our last newsletter, but we’re so happy to reconnect with you! So much has been happening in our beloved Nyeland Acres from new programs to inspiring community moments that continue to remind us why we do what we do.
At Nyeland Promise, our mission remains the same: to build a healthier, stronger, and more united community through compassion, empowerment, and opportunity. Whether it’s through our Cafecito con los Vecinos senior gatherings, Comadres Unidas women’s empowerment group or our continued outreach for families, every effort is made possible because of you — our dedicated neighbors, volunteers, and partners.

NEW Little Food Pantry
In the heart of Nyeland Acres, a small wooden box now stands as a symbol of hope, care, and community — our very own Little Food Pantry. This simple structure carries a powerful purpose: to ensure that no neighbor goes hungry.
Open 24 hours a day, the Little Food Pantry allows families to take what they need, when they need it. Whether it’s a box of salt, cooking oil or a bag of rice, every item represents kindness shared among neighbors.
It’s a reminder that even the smallest acts of generosity can make a lasting impact. Together, we can keep the pantry filled and the spirit of compassion alive in Nyeland Acres.

Día de los Muertos at The Big Santa
Nyeland Promise proudly brought the community together for a beautiful Día de los Muertos celebration at The Big Santa. Families gathered to honor their loved ones with vibrant mariachi music performed by the local Inlakech Youth Program, filling the evening with joy and tradition.
Guests were also invited to take home free marigolds, a heartfelt symbol of love and remembrance. It was a magical evening celebrating life, culture, and the unity that makes Nyeland Acres so special.
We’re also proud to partner with VCCU to educate our Nyeland residents on bilingual financial literacy, building a stronger foundation for long-term success and well-being.

Cafecito Senior Program
We celebrated 1 year of our Cafecito con Los Vecinos Senior Citizens Program — a year of laughter, friendship, and community! ? What once began as a way to bring seniors out of isolation has become a joyful family. Thanks to the generous support of the Rebozo Festival Madrinas we have been able to expand our program. We have also purchased walkers to help our seniors attend and stay active in the program. Cafecito y Conchitas takes place the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at 9:00AM.
