Art About Agriculture, the popular, group exhibition presented annually by the Ag Art Alliance, returns November 12, 2022, through March 5, 2023! Now in its fourteenth year, Art About Agriculture promotes awareness of agriculture by exploring its many facets through art—from workers to water, from machinery to fields, to the food that goes on our plates.
Enjoy 60 fresh works of art and meet the participating artists during the premiere reception on Saturday, November 12, from 4 PM to 6 PM. Beer, wine, and hors d’oeuvres will be served. All of the artworks will be available for purchase. |

Live Figure Drawing (Ages 18+)
Thursday, November 10, from 6 PM to 8:30 PM
$20 per person
Live Figure Drawing is a fundamental practice in art. It also makes for a really fun experience at SPAM’s Cole Creativity Center! Teaching artist Jem Morris will start class with a short introduction, followed by free sketching time with a nude model. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners. Basic materials are provided (or bring your own). Advance registration is required. |

Painting Pet Portraits (Ages 16+)

Capture the cutest face you’ve ever seen in oil paints during the four-part Painting Pet Portraits course led by teaching artist Jem Morris. Over four Saturdays, you’ll learn the ins and outs of painting pet portraits, including preliminary drawing, color theory, and painting techniques. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners. Finding Flow + Sound Bath (Ages 16+)

Treat your mind and body to the fabulous feeling of Finding Flow with the help of certified arts therapist Robin Briceño! Robin will lead you through techniques in movement, music, and art-making to help activate your brain’s most creative, energized, and focused state. Class will end with a luxurious sound bath performed by musician Karina Arcia. All skill levels are welcome. Students should bring their own yoga mat and dress comfortably. Gorgeous Gourds (Ages 16+)

Teaching artists Mariann Romero, Henny Shepherd, and Meleese Siegler have teamed up for a two-part Gorgeous Gourds course at the Cole Creativity Center. Learn how to transform natural, dried gourds into gorgeous creations via painting, carving, and embellishments. All skill levels are welcome, including beginners. All materials are provided. Día de los Muertos Community Celebration
We always start November with our Día de los Muertos Community Celebration, a free event shared between the Santa Paula Art Museum, Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery, and the Museum of Ventura County’s Agriculture Museum. Last weekend’s celebration inside the Cole Creativity Center included traditional art activities, a mini-exhibit of paintings by late Santa Paula artist Xavier Montes, and over 250 guests.
