SAN LUIS OBISPO — The County of San Luis Obispo’s Veterans Services Office (VSO) will be present along with other vendors at the Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market Veterans’ Day Celebration.
The event will be held at The Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market on Broad Street between Higuera and Monterey from 6-8:30 p.m on Nov. 9, 2023. There will be several military organizations, County services, and other vendor booths. Vendors who will be present include financial, medical, employment, housing organizations, counseling, VA resources, senior, mental health and other general resources for Veterans and their families. Music will be provided by MarciJean & the Belmont Kings who specialize in Jump Blues, Swing, Rock n Roll and Rhythm & Blues.
This year’s celebration is hoping to build on the success of last year’s attendance, and all are encouraged to come to honor our nation’s veterans, learn about veteran resources available in San Luis Obispo County, and enjoy food, music, and comradery. Currently there are roughly 17,000 veterans and their families living in San Luis Obispo County. “We are excited to host this year’s outreach event at the downtown farmers market to connect our community’s Veterans with resource providers across the County” said Morgan Boyd, County Veterans Services Officer.
What is the Veterans’ Day Farmers Market Celebration?
First held in 2009, The Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market Veterans Day Celebration is hosted by The Downtown SLO Association, and is a free, family friendly celebration of our veterans and local community.
