MPPA Policy Talks Series presents “Europe and the War in Ukraine”
with Michael Postl, Ph.D., the Austrian Consul General.
Monday, December 5 | 5:00 pm | In PersonMichael Postl, Ph.D., the Austrian consul general in Los Angeles, will give a presentation on the European response to the crisis in Ukraine from an Austrian perspective. Join us in person.

The focus will be on the humanitarian dimensions of the war and how austerity, the energy crisis, and a host of other factors are coming together in this situation. Following the presentation, Christina Sanchez, Ph.D., associate provost for Global Engagement, will conduct a Q&A session.

Postl also is a lecturer at the University of Innsbruck, teaching public international law and international relations. His previous roles have included ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam; head of the Department for Multilateral Economic Affairs; ambassador of Austria to Armenia, Georgia, and Uzbekistan; Austrian Foreign Ministry member; head of Western Balkans Department ad interim; and ambassador of Austria to Iran.

The event will take place in person at Samuelson Chapel. The event is free, but registration is requested by Nov. 21.
