VENTURA — “Haunted by History” author Craig Owens will share haunting facts about eight prominent historic hotels in Southern California and the origins behind many of their ghost stories, 6 p.m., Nov. 13, as the featured speaker for the “Speaking of Ventura County” series at the Museum of Ventura County, located at 100 E. Main Street, Ventura.
Published in 2017, “Haunted by History” reflects Owens’ solid research, fascinating insights and haunting photography, appealing to believers and non-believers alike. Local hotels and inns featured are the Victorian Rose Bed & Breakfast, the Wyndham Garden Pierpont Inn, and the Glen Tavern Inn. Admission is free for members; $5 for nonmembers. The Museum will have an exhibit of Owens’ photographs on display and also available for sale in the gift shop. After the talk, the author will have books on hand to sign and sell.
