National Latino Peace Officers Association to hold 10th annual scholarship banquet on April 27

VENTURA COUNTY — The Ventura County Chapter of the National Latino Peace Officers Association will present its 10th Annual Scholarship Banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Tower Club, 300 E. Esplanade Drive, Oxnard.

Lawrence Vasquez, USN Commanding Officer of Naval Base Ventura County, will be the guest speaker.

The local chapter has awarded more than $35,000 in scholarships to students in Ventura County.

Memorial scholarships will also be presented in the name of the family of Robert Hinostro, who in 1950 was the first Latino chief of police of Oxnard and the Miranda Memorial Scholarship.
