Join artist Ryan Carr from 6 to 8 p.m., May 1, for our next figure drawing group session in the Museum’s Smith Pavilion. This popular event meets twice-monthly to draw live, clothed models.
The group alternates between meeting at the Museum and meeting at local breweries. Bring your drawing pads, charcoal, pencils, pastels, whatever your favorite medium! No liquid mediums, please.All skill levels welcome. Admission is free.
Lunch + Music = MUNCH
Grab a lunch and head on over to the Museum every Thursday between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for music by local talent and free admission to the Museum.
Join us May 3 for music by Boom Duofeaturing John Lacques and Noah Thomas. Feel free to tip the musicians!

Kids Enjoy Music and Drawing at Museum’s Main Street Location
Join us for Free First Sunday, May 6, at the Museum of Ventura County, 100 E. Main Street, Ventura, for a fun day of drawing and music! Kids and parents can enjoy singing, playing, clapping and dancing to guitar, trumpet and live percussion, noon to 2 p.m., with professional musician and credentialed music therapist, JAB.
From 2 to 4 p.m., young and old can learn about architecture and try their hand at sketching with the American Institute of Architects Ventura County. Art supplies will be provided, along with expert guidance by local architects, who will also share insight on the Museum’s own architecture and history.

Hands-on Family Fun with Mechanical Toys at the Ag Museum
It’s creative fun for all ages as kids and adults “engineer” their own Rube Goldberg machine and more on Free First Sunday, 11 to 2 p.m, May 6, at the Agriculture Museum, 926 Railroad Avenue, Santa Paula.
Museum-goers can watch Rube Goldberg videos on the big screen, play with an assortment of mechanical toys from Gene West the Toymaker and enjoy family time exploring the exhibits currently on display.

Out of the Ashes: Healing in Story and Song Honors Our Community
The Museum of Ventura County and the Rubicon Harmonix are partnering to present Out of the Ashes: Healing in Story and Song, a unique program that honors the shared losses of our community from the Thomas Fire through spoken word and song, May 11, at the Museum’s Martin V. and Martha K. Smith Pavilion, 100 E. Main Street, Ventura.
The evening begins with a pre-concert wine reception at 5:15 p.m., followed by the concert from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is $20 adults; $10 students and children.

Exhibit Opening Event – Pedal Pushers! Bicycling in Ventura County
Pedal Pushers! Bicycling in Ventura County showcases the bicycle as an object of design as well as personal expression. Everyone is encouraged to ride their bikes to the opening reception, 6 to 7:30 p.m., May 11, at 100 East Main Street, Ventura.
Enjoy free admission and a no host bar.
