JUST ANNOUNCED!
Designing in the
Time of COID-19
May 26, 2021 @ 6:30PM on Zoom
The Museum of Ventura County invites you to join us on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 6:30—7:30PM for a Zoom panel discussion on Designing in the Time of COVID-19. This online event is free to attend with registration.
As the pandemic has shown, communities need to be more resilient, inclusive and connected. Governments need to rethink the use and management of public spaces, infrastructure and essential services and their responses are influenced by many factors — resources, regulations, socio-economic inequalities, political will and public awareness.
As cities rethink how to activate, integrate and mainstream grassroot responses into their efforts, they must also tackle the underlying stresses of inequality and inclusion as exposed by the pandemic. A tall order to fill, but where to begin?
Mark di Cecco, AIA East County and Chair of Moorpark General Plan Advisory Committee will be joined by Nicholas Deitch, AIA West County and Member of Ventura General Plan Advisory Committee, Jerffrey Lambert, ACIP and Chief Operating Officer at the Ventura County Community Foundation, and Lynn C. Johnson, RLA and Principal of Lynn C. Johnson Associates.
This event is a joint production of the Museum of Ventura County and AIA of Ventura County.

Journal of Ventura County
Physical copies of the latest volume of The Journal of Ventura County History, titled “The Vote”, are SOLD OUT. But, you can now purchase a digital download directly through our website!
This Journal marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, featuring the story of women’s suffrage in Ventura County and the stories of eight important Ventura County women. Buy your copy today!
One hundred years ago, women’s right to vote was officially enshrined in the Constitution of the United States. On June 4, 1919, the United States Senate approved the 19th amendment to the Constitution. On August 18, 1920, Tennessee became the 36th state to ratify the amendment, making it a part of the constitution. The fight for this right lasted decades and took place across the country, including Ventura County.
