Museum of Ventura County: Community Conversations Continue — ‘We Want to Hear From You!’ on March 15

The Museum of Ventura County, along with its community partners, California Lutheran University and TOLD Corporation, is pleased to invite the public to attend a Community Outreach Meeting on March 15 at 5 pm at the California Lutheran University Lundring Events CenterThe Community Outreach Initiative was launched by the Museum last fall in order to gather input from community leaders and members of the public about what they want from their museum.

“We began having conversations with the community about our future because we believe that the Museum belongs to everyone,” said Elena Brokaw, Executive Director of the Museum of Ventura County. “There was such a positive response and the feedback was so helpful that we decided to continue the meetings in various parts of the county. We have learned a tremendous amount from this initiative–community members are very vocal, not only about new programs that they’d like, but that they see the Museum as the place for a thoughtful exchange of ideas. It’s clear that the Museum is not only the custodian of Ventura County’s historic, cultural and artistic heritage, but that it has a role in providing meaningful educational, intellectual, and cultural experiences for residents and visitors.”

The event begins at 5 pm with check-in and a wine reception, and the meeting, which will be informational as well as interactive, begins at 5:30. There is no cost to attend, but RSVP’s are requested, To RSVP for the Community Outreach Meeting, please visit Eventbrite, or use the following link:
