A MESSAGE TO THE
MVC COMMUNITY
|
|
This week it’s my pleasure to introduce Eric Knight, MVC’s Development Director. Eric is a fairly new member of the MVC family, having joined the staff team in July of 2019. Before he threw his heart and soul into the museum world, Eric most recently worked at the American Cancer Society where he was in charge of new business support. Eric heads up the fundraising and public relations teams at the Museum. He is a natural fit for MVC – he is creative, curious, and entirely devoted to making his adopted community – the county of Ventura – a better place. He is also just about to be a first time father!

The Museum of Ventura County is special, and has been since we were officially established in 1913. MVC is constantly evolving with the times, and never more so than now. Right now MVC is here collecting the stories, the history, and preserving it all with the highest integrity so that we can learn from our collective resiliency, and celebrate our achievements as a County.
At MVC, we are grateful for you, our supporters. We are grateful for every member, every donor, every guest, every schoolchild who has been here for a field trip. We’re grateful for our Business Club members, for our event sponsors, for our event attendees. For everyone who has given once, and everyone who gives monthly. For every visitor who has been to a free First Sunday, and every person who has included MVC in their estate plan. Your support ensures that the Museum of Ventura County can continue telling the stories that exist solely in our collections and archives; your visitation ensures that we continue to achieve our vision of inspiring vibrant communities by connecting the past, present, and future.

|
I’m proud to call Ventura my home, and my wife and I can’t wait to raise our child here and watch him grow in this wonderful community.
And we can’t wait to welcome you back to MVC when our doors reopen!
Please enjoy this week’s MVC offerings. Enter to win an autographed Chris Hillman CD produced by Tom Petty, check out information about our Bonita C. McFarland Arts Education Scholarships, and I can guarantee you’ve never seen Thor like you’re about to in the Nordic Myths and Legends: George Stuart Historical Figures® virtual tour.
