Happy 150th Anniversary to Ventura County!
150 Days of Celebration
Uncover Ventura County: Historic Jigsaw Puzzles
In 1873, community leaders finally, after several failed attempts, successfully separated the region now known as Ventura County from Santa Barbara County.
This move created a unique community in charge of its own destiny. In the ensuing 150 years, Ventura County has developed into a region known for its agriculture, industry, innovation, and community spirit.
For the next 150 days, join the County of Ventura and the Museum of Ventura County as we celebrate this unique region. Be part of a series of programs and celebrations that will help us discover who we really are and what makes us unique in all the world. Meet neighbors and community leaders who have helped shape the world we live in every day.
Today, we invite you to discover your County through these jigsaw puzzles. These puzzles shine a light on every corner of our County and for all but the most intrepid of you, should reveal a part of our environment and community that you never knew existed.
The next 150 days will be an ever-developing puzzle of fun facts, games, events, programs, and more, all designed to reveal what makes Ventura County uniquely itself – and how we all have been a central part of creating that identity.

150 VC Memories
“VC 150 Memories” is a community-driven project that aims to celebrate and preserve the cherished memories of residents in Ventura County. The goal is to collect and archive photos that capture special moments and experiences that people have had in the county over the years. Residents are invited to submit their favorite images, which will be featured in a public photo gallery and used to create a visual representation of the county’s rich history and diverse community.
The project is a celebration of the people, places, and events that make Ventura County such a unique and special place to live. By sharing memories, residents will have the opportunity to connect with others, reflect on the past, and help to build a brighter future for the county.
