NOBODY OWNS THE BEACH by David Horvitz Pop Up

Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara hosted the Nobody Owns The Beach– 10th Anniversary by David Horvitz Shop last Friday, February 21, 2025 at The Culver Hotel.

The celebration was filled with laughter, music and shopping throughout the night to raise critical funds for MCASB. It was a lovely sight seeing many people from different places come together for the purpose of celebrating the 10th anniversary of this amazing piece!

We want to thank those who came and supported us at the event. The museum appreciates you all for showing up in a time like this when the Los Angeles Arts Community needs us the most.

Frieze Los Angeles Gallery Crawls and Studio Visits!

One of the greatest things that came from Frieze week was the fact that we were able to go to so many galleries! There are so many beautiful artworks to see and there’s nothing better than experiencing that with a group of people who also enjoy art!

We also had the honor of visiting some artists’ studios. This allowed us to hear more about the artist’s process. There’s something about being able to catch a glimpse of the artist’s mind that helps us understand their work at a deeper level. Hearing them talk about their artist process reminded us of all the thoughts and hours that go into making the artworks that we get to enjoy. Big shoutout to the artist that opened their doors for us!

If you’d like to take part of future Gallery and Studio Crawls, keep an eye out for monthly Art Shuttles coming soon!

We know that there were many of you wanted to get your hands on some NOBODY OWNS THE BEACH merch. We also understand how making your way down to Los Angeles can be a lot.

Which is why we are making the merch available for pick up at MCASB! There are two options available.

You can order online on our MCASB Store and then pick it up at the museum. OR stop on by, look around our current exhibit, Sangre de Nopal/Blood of the Nopal: Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Contemporary Art, MCASB’s Getty PST Art: Art & Science Collide, up until April 27, 2025, and buy your merch in person!
