> California Lutheran University will present “The Equipped Mind,” a free public workshop to help entrepreneurs deal with the psychological issues that come with launching new businesses, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, in Lundring Events Center on CLU’s Thousand Oaks campus.

Brandon Highland, an entrepreneur who provides consulting and support for the startup community in Ventura County, will discuss mental health as it relates to entrepreneurship. Highland graduated from CLU in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy.

> The Economic Development Collaborative — Ventura County, the California Small Business Development Center and the U.S. Small Business Administration will be present three free workshops in March at the EDC-VC, 1601 Carmen Drive, Suite 215, Camarillo.

The “Starting a Small Business” workshop, presented by Mary Anne Rooney, SBDC adviser, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, March 17.

A “Consultant Professional Development” workshop, presented by Joe Huggins, SBDC adviser, will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday, March 21.

An “Entrepreneurial Academy” workshop, presented by Huggins, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, March 21.

The program will focus on “Best Networking Practices: How business networking forms the basis of business relationships, effective networking practices to win important investors, customers and partners and using networking to differentiate a business and ensure its survival.”

Pre-approval is required for participation in the workshops.

All workshops include networking opportunities with other consultants and business owners.
