More Día de los Muertos activities planned this week

Community groups, businesses and other organizations continue to add to the Día de los Muertos celebration calendar. Amigos805.com will continue to post updates as they become available.

The Centro Mujer Community Center presents its Día de los Muertos celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 4225 Saviers Road, Oxnard. Visitors can decorate the altar with photos of departed loved ones, candles and offerings. The open altar celebration will then be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 at the center. Celebrate and remember your dear departed loved ones with friends and family at Downtown Sol’s “Dia de los Muertos” event, 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 328 W. Third St., Oxnard. Activities include face painting, traditional calavares (decorating mini skulls), arts, and pan de muerto. Call 805.240.7765 for more information.
