Volunteers are needed support the monthly Mixteco/Indigena Community Organizing Project community meeting from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at Harrington Elementary School, 2501 Gisler St., Oxnard.
“We have a lot planned for this meeting, including giving out flu shots which requires a lot of paperwork. If you are able to come and help out we would be grateful for your help,”Donna Foster, operations manager, stated in a media release. “You can RSVP to this email or feel free to show up that day if you are able to go. We at MICOP wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!”

MICOP annual toy drive
MICOP is also seeking donations of 1,500 toys for farmworker families’ babies and children that will be distributed from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Boys and Girls Club, 1900 W. Fifth St., Oxnard and from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at Rio Real School, 1140 Kenny St., Oxnard. Popular donation items include playground balls, soccer balls, sports balls, large plastic dolls, large plastic trucks and anything for babies, MICOP reported.
