Volunteers are needed support the annual Mixteco/Indigena Community Organizing Project’s “Fiesta Navideña 2012,” which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15 in El Rio and Oxnard.
“There are still volunteer opportunities for this Saturday’s Fiestas in Oxnard and El Rio and another volunteer request for gift packing in El Rio on Friday,” Donna Foster, operations manager, stated in a media release.
“El Rio is looking for volunteers to help sort toys and pack them in bags on Friday, Dec. 14 at noon at the Rio NfL office, 3300 Cortez St., Oxnard. Please contact Amy Mills at amills@k12.ca.us or you can call the Rio NfL at 805-981-2892 if you are interested in volunteering,” Foster said. “The El Rio Fiesta is held at Rio Real School, 1140 Kenny St., Oxnard on Sat., Dec. 15. Volunteers are needed between noon and 7 p.m.
“The Oxnard Fiesta is held at Boys & Girls Club, 1900 W. 5th St., Oxnard, CA 93034 on Sat., Dec. 15. Volunteers are needed between noon and 9 p.m.,” Foster said. “A big thank you to our special madrina, Mari Zavala-Yobe for making this an extra special event!”
