RISE Hosts Brunch Fundraiser at Portola Inn for Mother’s Day
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 12, and RISE is hosting the 11th Annual Mother’s Day Picnic for the SLO County community. The picnic is fun for all ages, with lawn games and an ice cream parlor. This brunch has brought the community together on Mother’s Day for over a decade and RISE is expecting this year to be better than ever!
This event is a fun way to bring families together to celebrate Mother’s Day. Families will bring blankets and eat on the lawn of the Portola Inn. The brunch will be catered by Chef Charlie and includes champagne, fresh fruit, roasted bacon wrapped tenderloins, sweet potatoes, grilled brocolinni, apple rose pastries, and more!
The picnic will take place on Sunday, May 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Portola Inn in Atascadero. Mothers and children under 3 eat for free, adult and teen tickets are $20, and children from ages 4-12 eat for $10. The event is co-hosted by SLO County Supervisors Debbie Arnold and John Peschong, former Atascadero Mayor Tom O’Malley, Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin and Atascadero Mayor Heather Moreno.
All proceeds from the event will benefit RISE clients and their families. For over 40 years, RISE has provided services for survivors and families in San Luis Obispo County, offering free and confidential services such as counseling, 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, and prevention education.
